A post by a wise and angry igbo.

Let get something straight! Buhari arrested Nnamdi kanu because of his own selfish reason(that he is corrupting the minds of some gullible igbo.), then i ask, has Nnamdi kanu ever spoken a lie before on that media. i don't see what is wrong with people having a different

view from others irrespective of their emotions. NB: you don't hide a truth simply because a lie has prevailed.  if Nnamdi Kanu is buhari's relative he will come up with a stupid lie for not arresting him and some stupid igbos that has sold their soul to party sentiment and hatred for just one person, Goodluck and love for ignorance will see nothing wrong with it. when Apc and Pdp battle came up, i thought no one will buy the idea but i was shocked at how an  African brain works. it is quite pitiable! even the so called

Okorocha, who had earlier denounced the activities

1000 APC youths from Southern Ijaw defect to PDP in Bayelsa

About 1000 youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Southern
Ijaw in Bayelsa State at the weekend defected to the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP).
They were received into the party by the state Governor Seriake Dickson at
the banquet hall of government
house over the weekend.
Dickson told the youths that the future of the state and the Ijaw nation
lied with them as he challenged them to come to stand firm and defend
their votes.
He said that anyone who loved the Ijaw nation would not have anything to
do with the APC and congratulated them for dumping it for the PDP.
The governor who was elated by the decision of the youths later renamed
the group as Patriotic Bayelsa Youth Forum as he praised the leader,
Okilo Mathew, as truly an Ijaw man.
He urged them to get the group ready for the task ahead, adding that he
will encourage them to enable them increase their membership and become
relevant in the scheme of things.
.
Dickson assured the youths that there would be adequate security during
the election as he enjoined them not to be intimidated by any threats
from the APC.
“This election is about Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC). Sensitize your
members, friends and colleagues about the adequate security measures at
all the polling units before, during and after elections. The era of
ballot stuffing and snatching is a thing of the past. Don’t be
intimidated by the APC threats”, he said.
.
He also told the youths that his administration is poised to continue
making a difference in the lives of people who are ready to work for a
better Bayelsa State.
His words: “The era of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop is gone for good.
That is why we will be meeting with you after our victory to say a proper
thank you”
He thereafter offered direct appointment to two of the group leaders,
Okilo Mathew and Momotimi Macaulay.
Two young ladies in the group, Caroline Samson and Queen Soromo, who are
into bead making and salon services respectively would also receive
financial support from the state- owned Izon-Ebe Microfinance Bank, to
enhance their businesses, the governor directed.
Earlier in his remarks, Mathew, who doubles as the Chairman of the
Community Development Committee in the area said their decision to ditch
Timipre Sylva and the APC for Governor Dickson was informed by so many
factors.
The group spokesperson, Momotimi Macaulay said after a careful analysis
of the situation in the state, they decided to work with the PDP.
He stated: “Our decision to leave APC was informed by several factors.
Chief among them is the prevailing peace in the state, which was revived
by the present government. We from Southern Ijaw are aware of the daily
killing and maiming of our youths by the previous regime. But since
Dickson regime we now know peace. Please keep it up, sir.
“Secondly, when we talk of education, I recall when during my tour of
some communities, before this regime came on board, at Torebeni, I met a
group of children sitting in a village square. And I thought they were in
a market square but upon a close observation, I discovered that they were
actually school children studying under such inhuman condition.
“Your excellency, the reason we are gathered here is because of your
purposeful leadership. When I visited that same community recently, I
discovered that the governor has built and equipped a new school. That is
just one of the numerous projects that this administration has built
across the state. We are here to tell you that your votes are secured in
Southern Ijaw. We will not sell our votes for any reason. We are here to
let you know that we are true youths of Bayelsa State.”
He also commended the governor for his empowerment programmes enjoyed by
the youths, noting that he benefited from the recent Restoration Cup,
which, he said, played a major role in the unity that communities have
embraced in the area.
He added that the group was aware of the monthly stipends government pays
to parents, uncles and aunties and thanked the governor as he affirmed the
group’s total support for PDP.
“We are all registered voters, we are going to work with other group and
in Southern Ijaw your votes will count. Our question was that what has
Sylva forgotten in the government house? A man who couldn’t manage the
vast resources then, can’t manage what is coming to the state now”, he
said.

Tragedy as 9-year-old girl is mauled to death by a dog

Police say nine-year-old girl was visiting a home on Holland Avenue in Elmont around 10.30am Sunday for a playdate with two girls when she was attacked by a pit bull. Witnesses say the dog latched onto her neck, and head, and shook

her like a rag doll.

"An Angel on Earth" - that is how family and friends will remember the 9-year-old girl who was mauled to death by a pit bull in the backyard of a home in Elmont on Sunday. "I wish I could turn back time - too sweet to go," says family friend Stacie Case.

"A woman in the house attempted to pull the pit bull off of her. She could not, and called 911," said Detective Michael Bitsko of the Nassau County Police Department.

"She tried with a broom - too weak, too scared," said neighbor Novelette Wilson.

By the time police arrived, Eyewitness News is told that two officers ran to the back, while one went through the house to the rear door.

"The pit bull got distracted and charge at the officer," adds Detective Bisko.

The officer fired, killing the dog, giving the other officers time to get to the girl.

The victim was rushed to Franklin Hospital/LIJ, but surgeons could not mend what the dog had done. She was pronounced dead a few hours later.

"It's so hard, I'm taking it so hard," says Case.

Meanwhile, the dog's owner, 29-year-old Carlyle Arnold was arrested at the scene, on a separate charge of violating an order of protection.

Officials do not believe he was home at the time of the attack. It's not clear if he could have pulled the dog off in time.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the child, or released an explanation as to why the dog turned so violent.

DSS Discloses Why Dasuki Was Prevented From Travelling

Following Colonel Sambo Dasuki’s trip to the United Kingdom for medical treatment which proved abortive on Wednesday, November 4, the Department of State Services has explained why it prevented the former National Security Adviser, from travelling.
The security agency noted that the reason why it deprived Dasuki from his journey abroad was owing to the fact that he had refused to appear before a committee set up by the federal government to investigate a N2billion arms transaction by the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Vanguard reports.
The service stated that Dasuki was invited to shed light on his involvement in the arms procurement processes, but had consistently refused to honour the committee’s invitation.
Shortly after Dasuki had left the court building, he was invited for questioning by the security agents.
On the issue of cancellation of his trip, Dasuki had told Premium Times that he received “intelligence” that an order was given to the operatives to effect his arrest at the airport.
He also said that the SSS invited a former governor of Adamawa state, Boni Haruna, who stood as his surety in court, and intimidated him.
Dasuki said: “They brought Boni Haruna to my house yesterday asking him to invite me to go with them just to clarify something. I told them that since this matter is in court, I am not under obligation to deal with them and advised them to go to court if they have any issue related to the case.
However, the DSS in a statement on Thursday, November 5, by Tony Opuiyo, accused the former NSA of grandstanding and blackmail deniying blocking Dasuki’s residence in violation of a subsisting court order granting him a relief to travel oversea for medical services.
The security agency described the allegation as unfounded and malicious aimed at tarnishing the good image of the Service.
The DSS also denied persecuting the former NSA stressing that he was trying everything humanly possible to escape the course of administering justice and then eventually paint the service in negative light.
The service said in the statement: “It may be recalled that Dasuki was initially arrested and charged to court for unlawful possession of firearms and money laundering, for which reason his international passport was seized and on the order of the court, returned to the registrar for custody.
“What has however brought the seeming standoff between Dasuki and the Service, despite the court-ordered release of his international passport on November 4, 2015, is his refusal to appear before a Committee undertaking the investigation of an entirely different case.
“The public may wish to note that the government set up the committee to investigate procurement processes relating to a $2billion arms transaction by the last administration, under which Sambo was the NSA.
“It was on this premise that he was invited by the Committee to shed more light on his involvement in the deal. It therefore remains surprising and shocking that Sambo has refused to honour invitations of the committee but instead resorts to grandstanding and subtle blackmail of the Service.
“His refusal to appear before the committee has left the Service with no option than to adopt legal means to ensure his attendance.”

Secondary school student arrested for killing a prefect who punished him for being late to school

Saheed Jimoh
A 19 year old student of Gaskia College, Amukoko, Lagos, Saka Hammed, who allegedly stabbed the school's Labour prefect, Saheed Jimoh, to death on Wednesday for punishing him over being late to school, has been arrested by police.
He was allegedly arrested by policemen attached to Amukoko Division, sometime around 6.40p.m. yesterday.

According to Vanguard, when they visited Gaskia College yesterday, normal school activities had resumed as students were seen in their respective classes receiving lectures. Officials from the office of Educational Quality Assurance, Zone 14, were also seen in the school, compiling reports of the incident.
A man who identified himself as the Vice Principal said he couldn't talk to reporters.

However, a student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said:
“There are several cult factions in the school. It is an open secret that many students are involved in cult-related activities and the use of charms.
“One of the common charms used by some of the students is called 'no touch blood'which is a very poisonous charm that kills instantly when it comes in contact with blood.
“Perhaps, in the case of Saheed, his killer could have tried to test the potency of the charm.”
Another senior student of the school revealed that that Hammed only resumed for the term on Monday. He said Hammed had failed woefully and was supposed to repeat SSS 2. He said he used to be in the same class as the deceased when they were in SS2 but the deaceased passed and was promoted to SSS 3. But he stopped coming to school.
He said:
“On Monday, his father brought him to school to see the principal. Only for the incident to occur on Wednesday.”
